A Steel Magnolia is not just about playing golf. She is about supporting our community and women's issues. She is about friendship and encouragement.
The Steel Magnolias was chartered in August 1998 by 14 local business women - most are still active club members!
Our founder and first President, Sherry Stevens, now resides in Nashville, TN but it is worth mentioning that she and several of the other founding members did not know how to play golf when they started the organization!
The Steel Magnolias support all women who desire to play golf, regardless of her level of play.
Our goals and objectives are:
- To provide programs in golf education, player skill development, golfing events, professional networking and social opportunities for our members.
- To provide valued benefits and services to Steel Magnolia members, volunteer and sponsors.
- To provide a premier network whereby "Women can grow professionally and personally through golf and great friendships".
